Get creative with wax filled tumblers
Posted by Candle City on 29th Oct 2016
Wax filled tumblers make a fabulous alternative to pillars, tealights or taper candles that need to be placed into holders. Wax filled tumblers are clean, fuss free and neat, perfectly contained in a glass container ready to burn at a moments notice.
Classically known as Votives, these candles have roots that have evolved from century old religious practices. Votive or prayer candles were made of beeswax and poured into a container, their main use was to be burnt as an offering in the act of prayer. They are commonly found in Churches, Mosques and other houses of religion.
Modern day votives can be used in the home to add an inspired theme to your décor settings.
Place them on a romantic dinner table to add ambiance. Illuminate outdoor pathways at an evening garden party. Create a magical wedding setting when you light up your reception tables with wax filled tumblers.
Use scented versions to add character and aroma to your living space. Relax in a warm bubble bath surrounded by candle light coming from wax filled tumblers. They are fun and versatile!
When the tumbler nears its end, don't try to dig out the wax! Simply place it overnight in the freezer, turn over and tap lightly, the last remains of the candle will fall out easily.
Don't throw away the empty tumblers. They make great containers to offer treats to guests at a dinner party. Use them to store small trinkets and jewellery or as holders for beads or sewing items. Fill them with confetti or potpourri and decorate a side table. Plant small cacti to create a unique tiny indoor garden.
